Problems with Using Aspirin for Dogs

Posted by admin on December 8th, 2008 filed in General

When you have a headache or joint pain what is one of the first things that you will do? Reach for the medicine cabinet and get yourself an aspirin or two? Dogs that suffer from joint pain or arthritis are also often given aspirin for dogs, which can help to reduce the pain and swelling – but only when given in the right dose. Too many dogs owners think that they can medicate their dogs themselves but there are problems with doing this such as:

Death of the dog:
Giving a dog too much aspirin can be toxic so extreme care should be taken when doing this.

Stomach problems: Your dog could end up with severe stomach pain and vomiting if you give them too much aspirin and this can make matters even worse.

Not for puppies: Giving a puppy aspirin is not recommended as they cannot tolerate it, so avoid this at all costs.

For a much better alternative to aspirin for dogs, you can use Flexpet, a supplement for dogs which is both a pain reliever and works to improve the overall health of your pets’ joints, tendons, and cartilage. In addition, as Flexpet is made from only natural ingredients, you will not damage the health of your dog by giving it to them.
